Are Stem Cells Really Immortal Cells?
Stem cells are believed to be immortal. However, literature evaluation suggests this conventional wisdom may be wrong. In contrast, increasing scientific evidence and logical reasoning on objective observations suggest that stem cells are mortal, just like any other cells.

A Revelation of Top Journals’ Rejections on Novel Discoveries

Scientists often wish to communicate their discoveries through the so-called “top” journals. Many did so because it pays back much better in terms of peer recognition and citation rate than publishing in the so-called “non-top” journals. However, one drawback of this communication strategy is the potential delay in publishing novel discoveries or, even worse, the “scooping” of true pioneers by imitators. The revelation made here shows a dark journey in seeking publication in the “top” journals for the novel discoveries. It exposes the strong tradition of the “top” journals in rejecting discoveries whose novelties are really ahead of their later trendy time. It may teach an important lesson for some true pioneers to rethink their strategies for communicating their “radical” discoveries and novel innovations.

Cell Synchronization: Retrospectives and PerspectivesCell synchronization is an important approach for studying cell cycle. However, controversies and disagreements have remained on how to assess the various methodologies for cell synchronization and how to define cell synchrony. This mini-review tries to put the various cell synchronization methods into a cohesive framework of logical discussion and delineate the relationship of cell synchronization in the light of new cell life theory.15 comments Abstract
An Illogical and Unscientific Argument against Liu’s Bacterial/Cell Life Model and Its Implication for Cell Synchronization

On October 5 Trends in Biotechnology (TiB) sent Liu an email informing its decision to publish a Commentary by Cooper to criticize Liu’s views on Cooper’s earlier publications in that journal. Against TiB’s will, Liu submitted a reply to Cooper’s Commentary to TiB. After a month of evaluation, TiB made a decision not to publish either Liu’s reply to Cooper or Cooper’s Commentary. An invitation was sent to Cooper from Liu (as the Editor-in-Chief of Logical Biology) to publish his criticism on Liu.  This invitation has not been accepted by Cooper up to now despite repeated prompts. To avoid further delay in communicating some important concepts and facts, Logical Biology decides to publish Liu’s reply to Cooper as originally submitted to TiB. Logical Biology wishes to announce that it will always open its door to Cooper and any other authors who wish to criticize Liu’s theory and join the debate.
